Our 38th Birthday Festivities Continue with a City-Wide Celebration!

Since 1976, “Gourmet, and going to stay that way” has been more than just a slogan. We take pride in creating gourmet pizza, pasta and salad, and have been repeatedly voted “Kansas City’s Best Pizza” – all thanks to our fans! To keep the celebration going, we’re doing something extra special: giving back to our First Responders!

We owe so much to all the First Responders of Kansas City for protecting both residents and our restaurants, and we’d like to give back! So on Thursday, March 20, we’ll be making surprise deliveries to various Fire and Police Stations throughout the metro! 

And to extend the thanks, we’re sharing a 25% discount for all uniformed First Responders throughout the weekend! So join us in thanking those who keep Kansas City both a great and safe place to live! Cheers!

Minsky’s Latinos at the Guadalupe Center Cinco de Mayo 5k

Minsky’s Latinos teamed up with the Guadalupe Center for the first annual Cinco de Mayo 5k run/walk!

We handed out free, ice cold Minsky’s bottled water as participants crossed the finish line, and also gave away a gift card to one lucky winner!

Participants also received Minsky’s coupons for when they’re ready to relax after the race. The event took place in the Westside neighborhood of Kansas City off of Southwest Boulevard and was part of the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, hosted by the Guadalupe Center! Congratulations to all those who were part of the race and to the Guadalupe Center on this successful event!

Built in 1919, the Guadalupe Center became one of the nation’s first social service agencies for Latinos and has grown to be the heart of the Latino community within Kansas City.

“It’s a really clean, really smooth vodka,” Owner Steve Strong says. “It’s great for sipping, but if you like a vodka and soda, that’s fine, too.”

What makes S.D. Strong Distilling even more unique is the fact that the distillery itself is located within a cave. After learning of the restrictive fire codes for a potential distillery site, Strong spoke with the city’s fire marshal, who recommended the caves because of the intensive sprinkler system.

“That kind of coverage meant that I could have a lot more stuff in progress,” Strong says. “And the caves are so bootlegger. I knew our vibe was going to be vintage, and this fit right in.”

Strong is also focused on barrel-aging whiskey, made with rye and malted barley and his gin recipe.

“I hope people are excited about what we’re doing,” Strong says. “We don’t only want Parkville to embrace us, we want Kansas City to embrace us.”

Amanda has worked for Minsky’s for nearly 10 years and continues to have a positive attitude, excellent rapport with our customers and is also a trainer. She was selected as a superior server from more than 300 servers across 11 of the Minsky’s locations.

When asked about Amanda, one of her managers said:

If you sit down and talk to any number of our regular customers they all know her by name, she knows them by their name, she knows their order by heart, and the list goes on. She has been with this company for almost 10 years and loves coming to work everyday.  She calls Minsky’s ‘her family.’ “

Did you make it out to Bier, Barkery and Barks last week?

You may have spotted the Minsky’s catering truck and decided to swing by with your pup and get in on the action.

The special event benefitting the KC Pet Project was a huge hit – and we had a huge crowd!

The event was held at the new KC Bier Company, and also featured Brookside Barkery and Bath. Along with slices of our delicious gourmet pizza plus perfect weather, a great time was had by all who attended. And all while supporting a great cause.

We’re pleased to announce that the event raised an awesome $2,511 for pets in need!
