Over the weekend the Jacomo Bike Team powered by Minsky’s Pizza hosted their annual Truman Cup in Sugar Creek, Missouri! This year’s Truman Cup was also the Missouri and Kansas Road Race Championship – so the competition was extra fierce.
The weekend began with the Cement City Time Trial. This is a flat & fast out and back course roughly six-miles in distance that tests the racers time trial abilities. With a goal to post the fastest time possible, nearly one hundred racers braved the heat to race for the cup. Minsky’s Pizza was there to provide shade under tents and with cold Minsky’s bottled water for hydration for the riders and spectators.
On Saturday, the real fireworks began with the Sugar Creek Circuit Ride. This race is known for one thing: pain. The riders challenged themselves in a 3.9-mile circuit race around the steep hills of Sugar Creek. The Minsky’s catering truck was there to feed spectators and fuel the riders post-race hunger with gourmet pizza, crisp salads, beverages and water.
The third and final race of the Truman Cup was the Sugar Hill Criterium. This fast-paced, six-corner race around Sugar Hill was full of excitement for everyone involved. The racers were seen putting their skills to the test while speeding down hills and around corners, all for the glory of being the Truman Cup omnium champion.
Congratulations to the Jacomo Bike Team powered by Minsky’s Pizza for putting on another successful Truman Cup! Minsky’s is proud to support a wonderful, hardworking and passionate group of talented cyclists.
