Minsky’s Pizza recently celebrated National Calzone Day in a big way! This national holiday is celebrated each year on November 1st – and was actually created by Minsky’s! As the founders of National Calzone Day, we thought it only appropriate to dedicate an entire week to our delicious calzones!
Not only were our Gourmet Calzones 25% off, but fellow calzone lovers had the chance to win FREE Minsky’s Calzones for a year! All they had to do was post a selfie on any social media platform with their calzone and use the hashtag #MinskysCalzoneDay17. Minsky’s collected all the eligible entries and drew randomly for a winner.

Drum roll please, and the winner is: Abbey Sandberg! That’s right, a big congratulations goes out to our National Calzone Day winner, Abbey Sandberg, and her daughter Ruby! Abbey snapped an adorable picture of Ruby wanting a bite of her calzone and posted it on Instagram. “She’s a really good eater, she’s always reaching for my food,” said Abbey.
This past week Minsky’s was happy to present Abbey a “VIP Calzone Card” redeemable for Free Minsky’s Calzones for an entire year! “We come to Minsky’s every week – or get takeout, usually on Wednesdays,” said Abbey. “We love the calzones, and are so excited for this!”
Abbey and her family live just down the street from Minsky’s Southwest Boulevard location – so we invited her to meet us there to present her with the Free Calzone Card and, of course, we whipped up one of her favorites – Minsky’s Gourmet Cheeseburger Calzone!
