What’s the first rule of fight club? Don’t talk about fight club – unless it’s Culinary Fight Club Kansas City that is! On Thursday, December 8th, Minsky’s competed courageously at the Culinary Fight Club Kansas City cook off, taking home the People’s Choice Award with their delectable dish – a toasted French baguette, topped with tender Venison and fresh pineapple salsa – paired with a Whiskey Mai Tai presented beautifully inside of a pineapple, crowned with tropical flowers.
Minsky’s own Sam Neenan, Nate Green, Jesse Jones, Josh Falcon, and Tara Wepler fought relentlessly for the title against two other Kansas City teams – ClusterTruck and Louie’s Wine Dive. With only 45 seconds to run to the pantry, and 60 minutes to create the perfect sip paired with the perfect bite, cooking skills were up against the ropes!
Not only does the Culinary Fight Club bring local restaurants and foodies together over their shared passion for grub, but 20% of all ticket sales go to the exclusive charity of choice – Fight2Feed! This organization raises awareness, forms partnerships and inspires by rescuing food from restaurants and Chefs, collecting donations from food distributors and mobilizing meals prepared by Fight2Feed volunteers to share throughout the community – both feeding the community and reducing food waste.
